If it appears on your statement that you have been charged twice for a single booking, please don't worry. This is a common display issue related to how some banks process online payments, and it will resolve itself automatically.
Here is a simple explanation of the process:
- A temporary hold (pre-authorization). When you first make a booking, your bank places a temporary hold on the funds to reserve them. This is often called a pre-authorization and is not an actual charge.
- The final charge. Once the activity provider confirms your booking, checkyeti processes the final charge. At this point, your bank is supposed to replace the temporary hold with the final charge.
Why it can look like a double charge
Some banks, particularly when a debit card is used, may show both the temporary hold and the final charge on your statement at the same time. It looks like two separate transactions, but rest assured, one is just the temporary hold that has not yet been removed by your bank.
How it gets resolved
Your bank will automatically release the temporary hold, and the extra transaction will disappear. This typically happens within 10 business days. We are very sorry for this inconvenience, but this process is handled entirely by the banks and is outside of our control.
If the issue is not resolved after 10 business days, we recommend contacting your bank directly for an update. To avoid this happening on future bookings, we recommend using PayPal or Apple Pay as your payment method.
